About An Súgán
Family run and owned for over 40 years
Restaurant & Seafood Bar, Clonakilty town
Over the years, An Súgán Seafood Bar & Restaurant has become synonymous with West Cork and Clonakilty. The O’Crowley family has proudly owned and run An Súgán for over thirty years, serving meals from the freshest locally sourced ingredients.
Food is served all day in the bar, with extensive menus that offer something delicious for every taste and budget, from An Súgán seafood pie to a Ballyburden steak sandwich or our wide selection of homemade desserts.
Our Restaurant is open Monday and Tuesday from 3-finish and Wed-Sunday 1-finish.
In addition to our colourful character bar, the restaurant has two private dining rooms that are suitable for all occasions, from birthdays to anniversaries.
Guesthouse in Clonakilty town, West Cork
Our guesthouse accommodation is located in the heart of Clonakilty town adjacent to the restaurant in a beautiful Georgian house, which is ideally located near the centre of town.
We have eight comfortable and elegantly furnished en-suite rooms, with full amenities. Our famous full Irish breakfast (and lighter fare) is served every morning.
There is much history attached to the guesthouse, which at one time would have overlooked Clonakilty Harbour. The guesthouse was home to Jane Irwin, wife of the Fenian O'Donovan Rossa, and it is said that Charles Stewart Parnell once addressed a crowd from the window.

“The location was very convenient and I felt very welcomed by all members of staff. The room was very comfortable and clean and had everything I needed. I had a cooked breakfast both mornings — delicious.”
“It goes without saying that when in Clonakilty you have to try the pudding—and the terrine of black and white pudding served with a creamy sweet (sun-dried?) tomato sauce was one of the best I have ever had.”
“The location could not have been better, just off the main street and easy walking distance from all pubs and restaurants. We had breakfast on both mornings and the choice, quality and service were excellent.”
“Full cooked breakfast each day was really good with the famous Clonakilty black pudding done perfectly. I’d personally prefer chunky sausages though. Lovely wheaten bread & cafetière coffee set us up for the day.”
